About This Ceremony

Ganapathy Homam is a powerful Vedic fire ritual (Yagna) performed to invoke the blessings of Sri Uchishta Maha Ganapathy. In Hindu tradition, Lord Ganesha is always worshipped first before any undertaking, and the Ganapathy Homam is considered the foundational fire ritual that must precede all other Homams. The ritual involves the creation of a sacred fire altar (Homa Kunda), invocation of Agni (the fire god) and Ganapathy, and the offering of specific materials into the fire while chanting Ganapathy mantras. The primary offerings include coconut, modakam, sesame seeds, ghee, and paddy. At Sri Aadhi Varahi Temple, Ganapathy Homam is performed on Sankatahara Chaturthi, Vinayakar Chaturthi, and upon special request by devotees. It is especially recommended before starting new businesses, academic pursuits, construction of buildings, marriages, and any significant life undertaking.

The Ganapathy Homam removes all obstacles at the subtle level and creates a clear path for success. The fire carries prayers directly to the divine realm.
