Sri Naga Muthu Mari Amman Shrine
An open platform shrine dedicated to the serpent-adorned rain goddess — also home to Sri Rahu Bhagavan and Sri Ketu Bhagavan, the shadow planet deities of the Navagrahas.
The Sri Naga Muthu Mari Amman Shrine is a sacred open platform — an architectural form traditional to village goddess shrines in Tamil Nadu — housing three divine presences under one sanctified space. Sri Naga Muthu Mari Amman, the beloved rain goddess and healer, presides over this platform shrine. Alongside her are enshrined Sri Rahu Bhagavan and Sri Ketu Bhagavan — the two shadow planet deities (Chaya Grahas) of the Navagraha tradition. The pairing of the serpent goddess (Naga Muthu) with the serpentine shadow planets reflects a deep symbolic unity: all three deities embody the transformative power of the serpent — healing, karmic dissolution, and spiritual liberation. This shrine is especially active during the Tamil month of Aadi (July–August), during Rahu Kala windows throughout the week, and on Fridays.
A uniquely unified shrine where the healing power of the mother goddess meets the transformative energy of the shadow planet deities. Worshipping here addresses health, karma, and astrological afflictions in a single sacred space.
